All rooms at Bluebay are spacious, bright and beautifully decorated in Zanzibari style with hand-carved furniture. The comfortable Garden Rooms overlook the grounds, while the popular Superior Rooms are elevated, offering views over the gardens to the beach and ocean beyond. The exclusive Junior Suites are only 30 metres from the ocean and are split level with a large seating area, magnificent verandah and even a private garden with an outdoor shower. There are also two beachfront Sultan Suites: the ultimate in opulence, privacy and luxury – a Sultan would expect nothing less!

Comprising six bungalows, each with four en-suite rooms, the Garden Rooms overlook the resort’s beautiful landscaped gardens. The Garden Rooms share their own private pool.

6 Junior Suites
Privately situated in three bungalows just 30 metres from the beach, the Junior Suites are extremely spacious and luxurious-90m2. Each suite has its own lounge area, a huge verandah and a private garden featuring an external shower: your private enclave of peace and tranquillity.

74 Superior Rooms
The Superior Rooms occupy an elevated position on the grounds, overlooking the verdant gardens to the azure ocean beyond. All the rooms in this category are sea-facing.

2 Sultan Suites
Ultimate in opulence, the Sultan Suites are situated at the ocean’s edge and offer accommodation truly fit for a Sultan. A huge double room, with a separate dressing room, leads to a relaxing lounge and out onto a magnificent verandah. For more than 200 years, the islands of Unguja and Pemba along with much of the coast of Eastern Africa were ruled by the mighty Sultans of Zanzibar. They lived in absolute splendour in magnificent palaces where large, spacious rooms contained every creature’s comfort imaginable. At Bluebay Beach Resort we think they would feel right at home!

Makuti Restaurant
The Makuti Restaurant enjoys magnificent views over the swimming pool to the ocean beyond and offers breakfast, lunch and themed evening meals with live entertainment, depending on the meal plan. If you prefer an exclusive dining experience, the beachfront Bahari Grill is famous in Zanzibar for its fresh seafood and Italian specialities – the perfect setting for a romantic meal. The Blue Marlin Restaurant offers beach barbecues and the Pool Bar boasts an enticing selection of wines and spirits.

The main dining facility at the Resort where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served, depending on the meal plan. The Makuti Restaurant enjoys magnificent views over the swimming pool to the ocean beyond.

Palms Pool Bar
The Pool Bar is located by the swimming pool and serves a full range of wines, spirits, soft drinks and fresh juices as well as specialised coffees. It is the main bar at Bluebay Beach Resort & Spa serving pre- and after-dinner cocktails for guests A relaxing ambience for guests as they enjoy the various entertainment provided in the evenings Live band performances on most evenings until closing time The bar features a Shisha Corner offering many traditional flavours

Blue Marlin Beach Restaurant
Situated right at the ocean’s edge, the Blue Marlin restaurant serves a la carte al fresco lunchtime grilled or stir-fried seafood buffets for guests of both resorts. Fresh fish, chilled wine and a cool ocean breeze – it doesn’t get better!

Bahari Grill
Serving seafood and Italian specialities, the Bahari Grill offers an exclusive dining experience for à la carte lunch or dinner.

Blu Deli Terrace Café
For Bluebay Beach Resort guests, the coffee lounge & terrace is the perfect place to cool off after a hard morning sunbathing! Read, play board games, check your e-mail using the free WiFi or just enjoy Zanzibar’s world-famous coffee and a delicious slice of cake. You are on holiday after all.

For the Younger Family

We understand the need for parents to have a fun-filled holiday with their kids, as well as a bit of adult time! For children up to the age of 13 years, the hotel has a professionally run children’s club with themed programmes and a range of indoor and outdoor activities. Not limited to arts, crafts and sports, the children also enjoy cultural experiences and get an introduction to the Swahili language. Our multi-lingual staff have all done first aid training and some even worked as kindergarten teachers. Nutritional kids’ meals are also offered at the Toto Club and we also provide ‘ayah’ or babysitter services at an additional charge.
